Coast Guard Day Picnic 04 Aug 2017

Good morning Coast Guard Forces Marianas,

As we approach our services 227th birthday, I would like to invite all Sector, Station, ESD and Cutter personnel along with your dependants to join Captain Chase in celebrating yet another significant milestone in Coast Guard history at Gab Gab Beach on August 04, 2017 at 1000.

The Morale Committee will provide a wide variety of menu items to include: cheeseburgers, hamburgers, marinated short-ribs, hot dogs, chips, water, soda and juice drinks for the kids. Additionally, if you were able to make the picnic after Liberation Day, you likely tried an extremely tasty and tender smoked pig prepared by CWO Wong, MSTC Wade, MST1 Riley, and MST2 Gribbon. If you were unable to try this delicacy after the parade, you're in luck because they have all agreed to bless us with the taste of heaven once again!

The Morale Committee has agreed to fund the purchase of the "protein" but are requesting families bring a side dish to help supplement the menu. I will place a signup sheet in the Sector coffee mess to prevent multiple people from bringing the same dish. Please sign up your favorite dish so we can ensure we have enough food for everyone.

We have reserved a water slide and a bounce house for the kids (and LCDR Graham). In addition to these inflatable safety hazards, we anticipate having a variety of games available such as corn-hole, tug-of-war, and volleyball for everyone to enjoy.

We have reserved all four pavilions and the adjacent space at the far end of the beach near the volleyball court. As you are all aware this event will be right on the beach, so please bring sufficient sun screen to protect yourselves and your families. Please bring your bathing suit and any beach equipment you want to use and let's have a fun and safe day! If you are new to the island, this particular location at Gab Gab Beach offers access to some of Guam's best snorkeling sites, pristine ocean swimming and beach volleyball for all to enjoy.

I look forward to seeing you all there!
